Katy Perry's Sesame Street Video Ban - Tennis Players Do It Better

Katy Perry's Sesame Street Video Ban - Tennis Players Do It Better

It’s not talking about kissing girls or shooting whipped cream out of a bikini top that has Katy Perry getting criticized.

Nope, it’s wearing mesh on “Sesame Street.” Apparently, cleavage doesn’t exist in a world where Cookie Monsters, Counts and eight-foot talking yellow birds mingle, so Ms. Perry’s clever skit with Elmo – who by the way wasn’t wearing anything – got yanked off the beloved children’s show recently.

As someone who grew up on Bert and Ernie, seeing the show in the news recently had me thinking back on some fond memories, and curiosity got me all over YouTube checking out some legendary clips.

Someone in the production team on the Street clearly loves tennis, as these clips through the years show.

Arthur Ashe hits out the alphabet – and
without his trademark spectacles!

Martina Navratilova only gets to chill with Luis and Maria,
not Grover or Oscar.

Elmo giving Andy Murray a pep talk.

Here’s Big Bird battling a young Tony Danza in a singles match
that is lacking a tennis ball.

Compliments to the Bird for the sun visor while playing inside. Compliments to Tony Danza for providing me with my best laugh of the week – the time he raced NASCAR’s Rusty Wallace in a go-kart on the short-lived "Tony Danza Show," and got a concussion when Wallace bumped him from behind and flipped him.
