Andy Roddick Has Mono!

Keep your hands to yourself, Roddick.

Andy Roddick withdrew from the Rogers Cup in Toronto because he wasn’t feeling too well. Andy was worried because he wasn’t sure what he was getting sick with. But now Roddick knows it’s not too serious, just a case of mononucleosis, which isn’t long term.
"It's weird, the fear of kind of the unknown and not knowing what's going on," said Roddick. "There were some days where it was good and some days where it was real bad. So it was like you would have one of those two or three good days, and it was like, 'OK, you're just being kind of a wimp.’
He felt so bad that he had to cut back on his training routine, as well as withdraw from the Rogers Cup. After a few tests were run on Andy in Washington, D.C., and Texas, the doctors finally concluded that it was just a bad case of mono.
How do you get mono? It’s often called the “kissing disease,” and is spread by saliva and close contact. I consider this an awesome side effect of getting to kiss Brooklyn Decker all day. Roddick should consider himself lucky, he got the best sickness ever!
"I'm just glad that we found out something that was causing it. It's nice to have a little bit of clarity moving forward. It's not something that's going to affect me, anything super-serious. They think I'm most of the way through it, if not all the way through it."
