I saw a Tampax commercial the other day featuring Serena Williams which was quite interesting. It reinforced Serena’s reputation of being a tough, independent woman.
It was aired on television shortly after Serena’s infamous outburst at the U.S. Open last year. Just in case you forgot what she said, it went along the lines of screaming “I swear to God, I'll f****** take this ball and shove it down your f****** throat” at a line judge after she was called for a foot fault.
In the commercial, Mother Nature is personified as a small lady who is carrying her “monthly gift” to give to Serena. It’s a little awkward, as the references about Mother Nature’s “monthly gift” aren’t very subtle.
“Serena loves me like an Aunt. Aunt Flow.”
“Bad blood? Well there is plenty of blood, but none of it’s bad.” Oh geez…
