Several Australian gossip magazines confirmed seeing Lleyton Hewitt’s wife, Bec Hewitt, sporting a noticeable bump under her clothes. She was spotted early last week while getting groceries with Lleyton and their two kids. Rumors have been circulating about a third baby for weeks but nobody has been sure. Lleyton Hewitt finally confirmed the rumors before the start of the French Open.
Bec wasn’t planning on expanding their family until after he retired but apparently Lleyton had different plans…she was equally as surprised as the rest of us.
"We were thinking we'd wait until Lleyton retires because traveling with two is plenty. It's a happy surprise though." It shouldn’t be that big of a surprise though since having a baby is completely in your hands…
If you were worried that having more kids can make a tennis player lose focus, don't fret. Hewitt’s former coach, Roger Rasheed, doesn’t think the addition to Lleyton’s family will affect his focus on the game.
"To win a grand slam is a hard thing to do. Lleyton has won two and been a finalist in a couple of others and been very close in a lot of other championships. He knows what it is about and he knows what to do. Having kids, it brings him a lot of joy actually. It is a great down time thing. Instead of just being in your hotel you can spend time with your family."
Lleyton is very excited about the news, saying "It wasn't fully planned, but it's fantastic. We were always going to have a third at some stage so it was exciting news."
The third Hewitt baby will join Mia at age 4, and Cruz age 17 months.
