It must be hard to get attention and recognition when your sister is stealing it all away. This is Venus Williams’ case, as her tennis game is slowing digressing while her sister, Serena, has been getting better and better. Serena is currently ranked the world’s number 1 women’s tennis player.
Well this is third time Venus has chosen an unconventional dress to wear while playing tennis, and this time it’s at Wimbledon. After her lacy black and red dress she wore at the French Open, fans were wondering if she’d go back to more normal dresses. That is definitely a “no.” At least she’s wearing white shorts this time and not skin-colored.
This time, Venus wore a white dress full of frills near the bottom. They shook and jiggled as she moved around on the court. She said that she was inspired by one of her idols, Tina Turner, who was famous for sporting that kind of design.
“I love her. I love Tina Turner. Obviously, she’s just an amazing, amazing artist, just a survivor. She reinvented herself. Plus she looks great. I’ve loved her forever. So the dress is really inspired by her.”
Granted it’s not as bad as her previous two dresses, but that’s probably because she had to follow the strict rules of Wimbledon. This is sure to cause gossip and attention, whether Venus wanted it or not.
