It's been some time since I've stretched my Tennis Diva muscles, but when the Rafael Nadal underwear ad came across my desk, I couldn't pass up the chance to share this with all of
you.
As you may remember, Nadal joined the likes of, undisputable pretty boys, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham in January as the latest model for Versace. The moody shots were taken by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
While fellow spokesmodel Megan Fox’s recent spot shows a more feminine side to the brand with flourishes of billowing sheer fabric and seductive techno beats, it was Nadal’s campaign that took the more edgy approach typically associated with the brow raising label.
The video is set in a black-and-white setting, in which the grand slam winner is accompanied by a screechy soundtrack, opening with a glass shattering and falling into a pool of water; in the reflection of the ripples is the shadowy torso of the Spanish hottie.
The next shot delivered to waiting viewers eyes is of the two-time Wimbledon champ, baring his body in black Emporio Armani Underwear.
When asked why the tennis hunk was chosen, Roberta Armani told UK newspaper the Daily Mail,
“He always chose interesting clothes for tennis, like long trousers or long sleeves on court— he wears a lot of color...He is not just an amazing sportsman but also an artist. I’m so proud he is joining the family.”

This campaign is the latest in a string of lucrative deals for Nadal, who has been estimated to have earned $37 million since turning pro in 2001.
