Babolat Dominates 2010 NCAA Tournament!

Division 1 NCAA Team and Individual Championships 2010, Athens, GA

 

  • First week: The Round of Sweet Sixteen onwards was played to determine the Team National Champions
  • Stanford Women crowned National Champs, Southern Cal Men crowned  National Champs for second consecutive year
  • Babolat player, Nguyen, clinches the National Championship for USC
  • #1 seed on the men’s side, University of Virginia, had 4 of 6 Babolat players
  • Host and 16 time National Champion on the men’s side, University of Georgia, had 4 of 6 Babolat players
  • Second Week: Top 64 Division 1 Male and Female individual players played off for NCAA Individual Title (selected based on National Ranking)
  • Chelsea Gullickson, a sophomore, of Georgia, captured the women’s title and Bradley Klahn, of Stanford captured the men’s title
  • Babolat players, Drew Courtney and Michael Shabaz of UVA, captured the Men’s Doubles Championship, earning a Main Draw Wildcard into the US Open
  • Babolat player, Austen Childs of Louisville, reached the finals of the Singles National Championship
  • Babolat players, Robert Farah of USC and Irina Falconi of Georgia Tech, finished the season ranked #1 in the nation
  • Babolat players, Robert Farah and Caitlin Whoriskey, of Tennessee, named “Senior Players of the Year”
  • Lauren Embree, of University of Florida, named “Rookie of the Year”
  • 13 male All-Americans used Babolat racquets
  • 13 female All-Americans used Babolat racquets
