Who's the GOAT?

Alot of speculation has been made that King Roger is the GOAT...but what do you guys think?

I think despite his US Open performance.. he's still the GOAT..15 titles..tens of millions in prize money.. sponsors..longest time spent at #1.. what more could you want?

But who do you think it is?

PS-GOAT is Greatest Of All Time.

RE:Who's the GOAT? Actually he hasnt spent the most time at nr 1, that is Sampras. But yeah i do think Roger is the GOAT. He is for me anyway. Most GS, career slam, all this in a time where tennis has become very competitive. And he is far from finished...

RE:Who's the GOAT? Gonna have to disagree... I think Rod Laver is the GOAT.

Completed the Grand Slam twice? Who else has done that? Nobody.

Seven years spent at the top of the tennis world?

He is the only male player during the open era to have won a calendar year Grand Slam.

That is why Laver is the GOAT  In my opinion...

RE:Who's the GOAT? Well its hard to determine a true GOAT, thats why one can only really say someone is the GOAT in your opinion. For me Laver didnt play in a very competitive era. Winning the CYGS is now pretty much impossible. Roger came within a match twice, but both times lost to the clay court GOAT. So youd have to say it was impossible to do better.

RE:Who's the GOAT? Gotta agree..When Laver won he was only playing on 2 different surfaces..Grass or Clay.

Current Generations throw hard court into the mix, which would have given Rod an extra challenge.

Had Roger had to play 3/4 slams on grass, there's no telling how many titles he'd have stacked up at home.

But props to Rod for winning CYGS though, and he's the only one in the open era so I gotta give him that too.

Today's game is competitive, it just boils down to who wants it the most.

RE:Who's the GOAT? Pete never made it out of the Semis @ Roland Garros as well...and that was once his entire career.. rest of the time he did worse.

And how could I forget Bjorn Borg? He Won 5 consecutive Wimbledon titles 6 French Open titles…

I dunno if I could include Nadal on this list.. he's yet to win the US Open..and hasn't been close in awhile.

RE:Who's the GOAT? R. Fed hands down, he's won them all.

RE:Who's the GOAT? I don't know if you can determine a GOAT....in my opinion, I think there are greatest players of their ERA..Laver, Sampras, and Fed...all are the greatest of their ERA, and strong contenders for GOAT...I just think there are to many variables to make decision without people offering a justifiable argument for the other players mentioned.

RE:Who's the GOAT? I agree with you. I think a GOAT is little bit of a superfluous statement because tennis has evolved so much over the years with different technologies. Could Federer or Serena be the GOAT with the original wooden racquets?

RE:Who's the GOAT? I just can't use the raw # of Grand Slam titles as my deciding factor. A generation ago, nobody played the Australian Open much because it was at the end of the year, a billion miles away (not everyone playing was a millionaire back then) and the surfaces were terrible. To me, the GOAT is the player I would select if I needed to win one match, right now, today, and it doesn't matter if the opponent is club pro won won a wild card in a raffle, or a cyborg who has Andy Roddick's serve, Federer's baseline game and McEnroe's swagger. I choose Pete Sampras.
