Novak Djokovic, 2014 Miami

Novak Djokovic was transcendent throughout his 6-3, 6-3 victory over Rafael Nadal in Miami on Sunday, but he saved his most dazzling defense for last.

Novak Djokovic's performance in today's Sony Open final in Miami was nothing short of breathtaking, as exemplified by this brilliant match point that sent the Serb through to his fourth Miami title. Rafael Nadal, who was criticized for not working over the Djokovic forehand on enough occasions on Sunday certainly did all he could on this point, but each time the Spaniard attacked the forehand of Djokovic the Serb answered the call with some brilliant defense.

Pretty amazing stuff by the Serb to say the least. And one of the nicest Championship points we've seen in a while.

A 28-stroke rally to end the tournament? Would we expect anything less from Djokovic and Nadal?

With the victory Djokovic becomes the second man in tennis history to win the prestigious Indian Wells-Miami double twice (Roger Federer was the other), and he also notches his fourth Miami title and his 18th Masters 1000 title.

Not bad for 84 minutes work for the Serb.
