Stan Wawrinka and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will open Friday’s Davis Cup final in Lille, France, while Roger Federer has been declared fit to face Gael Monfils in the second rubber.

Draws were made official on Thursday in the Grand Hall of Lille’s Chamber of commerce.

Tsonga, who leads Wawrinka 3-2 lifetime, will kick off things at the 27,000 capacity Stade Pierre Mauroy on Friday at 2 PM local time. The French are bidding for their tenth Davis Cup title, which would move them past Great Britain and into third place all-time for the competition. Only the USA (32) and Australia (28) own more titles.

Federer, who was forced to pull out of Sunday’s final in London with a bad back, returned to the practice court on Wednesday and again on Thursday before the draw ceremony.

"In the last few days I gained confidence,” said Federer, according to Italian journalist Chiara Gambuzza. “On Sunday and Monday I was negative, not now. I'm positive. I have confidence in my body"

Federer owns an 8-2 lifetime edge against Monfils, including 4-0 on clay.

On Saturday, the doubles will feature Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet vs. Michael Lammer and Marco Chiudinelli. Doubles lineups can be changed up to one hour before the beginning of play.

On Sunday the reverse singles are slated to feature Tsonga vs. Federer, followed by Wawrinka vs. Monfils.
