Bryan Brothers Shanghai 2014

Mike and Bob Bryan kept the hits coming--both on the court and off on Sunday in Shanghai.

Mike and Bob Bryan are milestone machines and we are reminded of virtually every week as the two-man American wrecking crew carries out its perpetual assault on the record books.

Shanghai: Federer Nabs Back-to-Back Masters Titles for First Time Since '12

On Sunday the Bryans did some pioneering as well, as the California duo eased past the all-French pairing of Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, 6-3, 7-6(3), to claim their 31st Masters 1000 title and become the first tandem in tennis history to have won all nine of the current Masters 1000 shields.

Benneteau and Roger-Vasselin, who were contesting their third final as a team, suffered their first loss at the final stage and fell in straight sets for the second consecutive time to the Bryans.

Earlier in the week the Bryans clinched the ATP’s year-end doubles ranking for a record 10th time (and sixth consecutive) as well as notching their 900th match win as a team (also a record, duh).

To put some icing on their cakes, the musically inclined siblings who pursue jam sessions nearly as ravenously as they pursue ATP titles (101 and counting), got the chance to riff on some blues with Police lead guitarist and bona fide rock legend Andy Summers.

It is definitely the stuff of legend, but for the Bryan Brothers, it’s all in a day’s work.
