Maybe all Agnieszka Radwanska needed to get her game on track was a bit of hometown cooking. Poland's No. 1 player stormed into the Katowice Open semifinals on Friday, reaching her first semifinal of 2015 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Klara Koukalova. Top-seeded Radwanska has only lost ten games in three matches at her hometown event, but she’ll have a battle on her hands on Saturday when she meets Italy’s Camila Giorgi.

Giorgi put the kibosh on 18-year-old lucky loser Elizaveta Kulichkova's title hopes with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. But Kulichkova, who knocked off 5th-seeded Kaia Kanepi in Thursday, held her own and actually led the Italian by a break in both sets.

The other semifinal will feature another pair of youngsters in 8th-seeded Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and Alison Van Uytvanck. 20-year-old Schmiedlova, a finalist earlier this season at the Rio Open, raced past second-seeded Alize Cornet, 6-2, 6-0, while 21-year-old Van Uytvanck upset 7th-seeded Kirsten Flipkens, 6-2, 6-4 to reach her second career semifinal.
