21-year-old Ajla Tomljanovic survived a two hour and 53 minute battle of wills and skills with Monica Puig to reach her first ATP final at the Pattaya Open in Thailand, 7-6(4), 5-7, 7-6(7).

In a match that featured many twists and turns, Tomljanovic eventually steadied her nerve to finish off the 76-minute third set—and the match—on her fourth match point.

"At the end I couldn't believe it was over, because I thought in my head it was over so many times before it actually was,” Tomljanovic told WTAtennis.com.

The 21-year-old will face a savvy veteran in Sunday’s final. Two-time Pattaya champion Daniela Hantuchova improved her career record to 15-1 at the event with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(3) victory over Marina Erakovic.

The 31-year-old will bid for her seventh career title when she meets Tomljanovic in the final. The pair have split their two previous head-to-head encounters.
