Richard Gasquet ended a personal three-match losing streak to Gael Monfils on Saturday to reach the Open Sud de France final and keep alive his hopes of winning a third career title at the event.

Gasquet saved seven of eight break points and withstood ten aces to break Monfils on three of five opportunities.
Gasquet’s appearance in the final marks the tenth consecutive year that a Frenchman has reached the final in Montpellier. Gasquet, runner-up to Monfils in 2014, has won the title at the event in 2006 and 2013.
He’ll face the hard-serving Pole, Jerzy Janowicz, in the final. Janowicz, who saved six match points in his first-round victory over Dustin Brown, downed Joao Sousa, 7-6(9), 3-6, 6-1 to reach his third career final.
Gasquet holds a 2-1 lifetime edge over Janowicz, which includes a straight-sets win in the semifinals at Montpellier last year.
Janowicz will bid for his first career title, while Gasquet is bidding for title No. 11.
