A smattering of tweets from a wild—and draining--Day 3 in Melbourne.
1. The long, winding road to the third round had to go through a very determined Tim Smyczek on Day 3. When was the last time Rafa celebrated a second-round victory like it was his 14th Grand Slam title?
2. It was tough on Rafa, but it may have been tougher on Uncle Toni.
3. Taylor Townsend shows a good sense of humor a day after her hard-fought first-round loss to Caroline Wozniacki. And, no, she did not choke.
4. If it’s good enough for Roger to RT, it’s good enough for the Media Mash.
5. Yep, that about sums it up. Sad for Tim Smyczek, who played a great match, but fantastic to see Rafa win on guts.
6. Dr. Ivo lost the match, but he wins the competition for tennis blooper of the day..
7. And, coming in second place for tennis blooper of the day, is this gem by Oceane Dodin.
8. In other words: People be showin’ up!!!
9. Only one word was necessary to describe Maria Sharapova’s match point saving performance on Day 3…
10. Bernie was surprised to make it to the third round, but none of us were. Kid always plays tough on his home soil.
