26-year-old Brazilian Teliana Pereira has been coming of age on clay courts in 2015. She already scooped up her maiden title in April when she claimed the Bogota title, and now she’s one step from title No. 2.

Waiting for her in the final is a 21-year-old rising German, Annika Beck.

Beck battled past American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, 7-6(8), 4-6, 6-3 to reach her first career clay-court final, and first final of 2015.

Beck broke Mattek-Sands six times on 12 opportunities to win a wild, two hour and 20 minute encounter with the American.

After dropping a set in her opener, Pereira has won her last three matches in straight sets at Florianopolis. Today she defeated Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova, 6-3, 7-5, to improve to 12-5 on clay at the Tour-level.

Beck and Pereira met last week in Bad Gastein, with Beck prevailing when the Brazilian was forced to retire at 5-2 down in the first set due to injury.

Both players are seeking their second career title.
