A smattering of tweets from Day 3 of the Championships…

1. 18-year-old Latvian Jelena Ostapenko gets a stern lesson in handshake etiquette from Kristina Mladenovic. The Latvian managed to blow leads in each set against Mladenovic, and apparently didn’t want to be bothered by a proper handshake.

2. So good to see Tommy Haas, at 37, coming back to form (despite his day 3 loss to Milos Raonic). He could be one of the great stories of the summer.

3. Wait… no fist-pumps while cooking? And SHARAPOVA SLICES THE AVOCADO AND LET’S OUT A FIERY COME ON!

4. One of the more animated players in all of tennis is Yulia Putintseva.

5. She's a physical comic. It is quite funny!

6. When you get an opportunity for a clean shot at an umpire, sometimes it’s hard to help oneself.

7. A hot, sweaty selfie for Roger Federer on Day 3, which was the hottest day ever at Wimbledon.

8. Brilliant! Lucky! Brucky? Lilliant? Whatever it is, this behind-the-back beauty by Johanna Larsson will be difficult to top. 9 days to go at Wimbledon. Will it be done?

9. All this new technology and you can’t break the record, Milos? Well, still several rounds to go. Nice work and HAPPY CANADA DAY!

10. Record temperatures proved to be too much for this young ballkid. Rumor has it that he’s okay.

11. (Because this one goes to 11) Passing Steffi Graf on the all-time Wimbledon win list? That is simply legendary? How many more will Venus get?
