Serena Williams showed her skills playing transition tennis today.

Three days after capturing her sixth Wimbledon crown on grass to complete the Serena Slam, the world No. 1 had no issues shifting surfaces to red clay.

Wearing all white, Williams blasted past qualifier Ysaline Bonaventure, 6-2, 6-1, in her 53-minute opening match of the Collector Swedish Open in Bastad.

Surprisingly, that was not the fastest victory of the day. No. 4 seed Mona Barthel dished out a double bagel to qualifer Maryna Zanevska in 43 minutes.

Lara Arruabarrena beat second-seeded Samantha Stosur, 7-6 (5), 6-0. Former French Open finalist Stosur served 42 percent and won just two points on her first serve in the second set.

The top-seeded Williams saved the only break point she faced in the first set. Growing stronger as the match progressed, Williams won 12 of 16 points played on her serve in the second set, raising her record to 40-1.

The 21-time Grand Slam champion will face Klara Koukalova for a quarterfinal spot. Williams has won four of five meetings with the Czech, with her lone loss coming on the red clay of Marbella in 2009.

Seventh-seeded Swede Johanna Larsson swept Richel Hogenkamp, 6-1, 6-3.
