Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer clinched the ATP’s year-end No. 1 ranking on Saturday with a win over Mike and Bob Bryan, but they didn’t let it get to their head.

On Sunday the Romanian-Dutch pairing was back at it again, subduing Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea 6-4, 6-3 in the final to become the first team to win the title without dropping a set since round-robin play began in 1986.

Rojer and Tecau break for a 3-2 lead and saved a break point in the next game to hold en route to taking the opener. In the second set they broke Bopanna’s serve twice, including a break in the final game.

The Wimbledon champions finish the season with a remarkable 11-0 record in London. They also defeated Bopanna and Mergea for the fourth time in four meetings this season. At Wimbledon they edged their rivals in a dramatic five-set semifinal.

Rojer entered this year’s competition with an 0-9 record at the World Tour Finals, but he told the capacity crowd that he would gladly trade those three winless appearances for his maiden title at the prestigious year-end event.

Mergea and Tecau exchanged kind words after the match as well. The two Romanians were former partners as juniors and have also partnered in Davis Cup.

Rojer and Tecau finish the season with a 48-21 record which includes the Wimbledon title and a semifinal at the Australian Open. The pair are the first ATP doubles team to finish No. 1 other than the Bryan Brothers since 2008.
