Wickmayer was riding an eight-match winning streak following her title run at the Japan Open last week. Former world No. 1 Jankovic saved six of seven break points in the third set to reach her third final of the season.

The fourth-seeded Serbian will play red-hot Denisa Allertova for the first time in the final.

The 74th-ranked Czech defeated third-seeded Sara Errani, 7-5, 6-2, to surge into her first career WTA final at the Guangzhou Women's Open.

Allertova has upset two of the top three seeds in successive rounds.

She surprised top-seeded Simona Halep, 6-4, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. Allertova broke Errani's second serve nine times scoring her second straight win over a former French Open finalist.
