The second-seeded Safarova served 72 percent and staved off two of three break points avenging a three-set loss to Pliskova in Stuttgart last week.

It is Safarova's first final since she fell in three sets to compatriot Petra Kvitova in the New Haven final last August.

"Of course I'm excited to be in my first final this year and even more excited that it's going to be here in Prague," Safarova told WTATennis.com. "They actually had to close the gates today because it was so crowded, and it was great to play in front of such a great crowd."

The 2015 Roland Garros finalist will meet 2010 French Open finalist Samantha Stosur in tomorrow's final.

The fourth-seeded Australian took a walkover into the final after top-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova withdrew from her scheduled semifinal with an abdominal injury.

"It's always nice to be in a final however you get there," Stosur said. "I was ready to play and unfortunately Svetlana's injured and can't play. It's unfortunate for her, but I'll take the easy day and go and watch the girls play in the other semifinal."
