Caroline Wozniacki's clay court season is rapidly eroding before it even begins.

Continuing her recovery from ankle and foot injuries she suffered in training, Wozniacki officially withdrew from Rome and Madrid. Her status for next month's Roland Garros is now in doubt.

Given the fact Wozniacki will have little preparation time for Paris if her injury does heal, it's quite possible she could withdraw from Roland Garros, too. Wozniacki reached the 2010 Roland Garros quarterfinals. Since then, she's failed to surpass the third round in five straight appearances.

Since winning her first three matches of the season, Wozniacki has gone 5-7 with five losses to players outside the Top 50.

The 24th-ranked Dane has suffered three opening-round exits in six tournaments since she reached the Auckland semifinals.

Wozniacki's last match was a grueling, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (1) loss to Elina Svitolina in Miami last month.

The former No. 1 reconnected with tennis friends at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters tournament celebration last week.

Sporting a cast and sunglasses, Wozniacki also sat in Gael Monfils' support box during his loss to Rafael Nadal in the final.

Father Piotr has been a supportive shoulder in his daughter's rehab.
