Pablo Cuevas reached his fourth final of 2016 with a straight-sets victory over sometimes sparring partner Renzo Olivo on Saturday at the German Tennis Championships in Hamburg. The Uruguayan’s 7-5, 6-3 win over the Argentine improves his record to 21-6 on clay for the season and gives him a chance to claim his sixth ATP title when he meets Martin Klizan in the final on Sunday.

Cuevas saved all six break points he faced, including five in the second set to earn the hard-fought victory. The 30-year-old improved to 2-0 over Olivo, a player that he trained with in the off-season.

“He's a good friend and a good player. Today I played well. Renzo is so fast on the court. I'm happy to be in another final this year," Cuevas said, according to ATPWorldTour.com.

Klizan reached his second final of the season, ending the run of 36-year-old Frenchman Stephane Robert with a 6-3, 6-4 win. The Slovakian reeled off the final five games to get it done in straight sets.

Klizan missed 10 weeks due to a right foot injury this spring and returned at Roland Garros. Entering Hamburg, the 27-year-old had only played two tour-level matches since Indian Wells due to the injury.

Klizan is into his fifth career final and has won all four of his previous title matches.
