The top-seeded Spaniard smacked eight aces defeating Robin Haase, 6-4, 7-5, to capture his first career clay-court title at the Swiss Open.
It is Lopez's fifth career ATP singles title and comes a month after he partnered Marc Lopez to claim his first Grand Slam doubles title at Roland Garros.
The left-hander broke serve at love in the fifth game. Haase, who beat Lopez in the 2013 Gstaad semifinals, burst out to a 3-0 second-set lead. Lopez leveled at 3-all then converted his third break point to break for 6-5 before serving out his first title since 2014 Eastbourne on grass.
Ten years ago, Lopez defeated Marin Cilic and Ivan Ljubicic in succession to reach the Gstaad final before losing to Richard Gasquet, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 3-6, 3-6.
