Agnieszka Radwanska continued her fine run of form in 2016 by skating past Alize Cornet, 6-0, 6-1 in 68 minutes.

The world No. 2 has reached at least the semifinals in all events she has played this season and is the WTA’s win leader with 18.

Radwanska improves to 7-1 versus the Frenchwoman, and did so with her usual stylistic enhancements.

Radwanska will face Madison Brengle on the third-round on Saturday. The Delaware native upset Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, 7-5, 6-4.

In other action early on Thursday, 8th-seeded Petra Kvitova dominated American Irina Falconi, 6-1, 6-4, to set up an enticing third-round clash with 30th-seeded Ekaterina Makarova. Makarova outlasted Lesia Tsurenko, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

16th-seeded Ana Ivanovic also moved through on Thursday in Miami. She downed Brazil’s Teliana Pereira, 6-3, 6-0, to set up a third-round meeting with Switzerland’s Timea Bacsinszky, who defeated Russia’s Margarita Gasparyan, 6-3, 6-1.

12th-seeded Elina Svitolina defeated China's Zhang Shuai, 6-3, 6-0, 11th-seeded Lucie Safarova was knocked off by Yanina Wickmayer, 6-2, 6-3, and Heather Watson blitzed 20th-seeded Sloane Stephens, winning the last eleven games to triumph, 6-3, 6-0.
