France’s Caroline Garcia reached her first final of 2016 by taking out Virginie Razzano in three tight sets at the Internationaux de Strasbourg on Friday, 6-7(3), 6-4, 7-5.

Garcia will bid for her second career title and first since 2014 when she meets Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the final.

The Croatian has returned to the final in Strasbourg for the first time in 19 years. Just a touch before turning pro, Lucic-Baroni made a stunning run to the final as a 15-year-old, losing to Steffi Graf in the title match.

Lucic-Baroni mowed down Kristina Mladenovic, 6-1, 6-1, to reach her first final of the year.

"Nineteen years in between the finals. It's amazing. It's like coming home now for me in Strasbourg," she said.

Garcia owns a 3-0 lifetime edge against Lucic-Baroni, including 1-0 on clay.

At Nurnberg, qualifier Kiki Bertens reached the final by dispatching Julia Goerges, and will face Mariana Duque-Marino in the final. Both players are bidding for their second career WTA title.
