Pliskova hit ten aces and saved both break points she faced in the third set to achieve the victory in one hour and 46 minutes.

The 24-year-old endured a seven-match losing streak this spring and summer, but has since rebounded to produce some great tennis. She won the Dalian $125K title in September.

Pliskova, the twin sister of U.S. Open runner-up Karolina Pliskova, had never reached a WTA-level quarterfinal before this week.

She receives $43,000 and 280 rankings points for her victory.
