David Goffin swept Paolo Lorenzi, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2, to send Belgium into the Davis Cup semifinals against Australia.

David Goffin capped a perfect weekend lifting Belgium into the Davis Cup semifinals for the second time in three years.

Goffin converted seven of nine break points dissecting Paolo Lorenzi, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2, to complete Belgium’s Davis Cup quarterfinal victory over Italy in Charleroi.

It is Goffin’s fifth straight Davis Cup singles win and sends Belgium into the September 15-17th Davis Cup semifinals against Australia.

In Brisbane, Nick Kyrgios conquered Sam Querrey, 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-4, sealing host Australia’s quarterfinal victory over the United States.

The 14th-ranked Goffin has not lost a Davis Cup singles match since bowing to Andy Murray in the 2015 Davis Cup final.
