The Americans are heading to Belarus for the 2017 Fed Cup final, thanks to three victories from CoCo Vandeweghe, including a triumph in the fifth and deciding rubber that sends the Americans to the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas final for the first time since 2010.

Bethanie Mattek-Sands improved to 7-0 lifetime in Fed Cup doubles ties by pairing with Vandeweghe for a 6-2, 6-3 win over Kristyna Pliskova and Katerina Siniakova.

It was an amazing day as a team," Vandeweghe told reporters. "It shows that every point counts in this event, and we all came together when it mattered most. That's what you expect out of a Fed Cup tie."

The teams headed into Sunday’s reverse singles tied at one apiece, and Vandeweghe quickly gave the Americans the edge by providing a 6-4, 6-0 thrashing of Siniakova. But 17-year-old Marketa Vondrousova leveled for the Czechs when she defeated Lauren Davis, 6-2, 7-5.

"She beat top 40 player at her age and she gave us a chance to stay in the tie. Anything could happen," Czech Captain Petr Pala said. "But they just didn't let us make the last point, so they were better. Coco won two matches in straight sets, and I think that was also the key, because she was very confident in the doubles and she played with the No. 1 player in the world."

By defeating the three-time defending champion Czech side, The Americans improved to 10-2 all-time against them.

The Americans will travel to Minsk, Belarus to face an unlikely finalist on November 12 and 13. Earlier on Sunday Belarus defeated Switzerland thanks to upset singles victories by Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Aryna Sabalenka.
