Agnieszka Radwanska may never shake that “best player never to have won a Grand Slam” label. The Pole was bounced by Croatia’s Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-3, 6-2 on Day 4 of the Australian Open, which means that Radwanska has now failed to reach the quarterfinals at 10 of her last 12 majors.

Radwanska, a semifinalist last year at Melbourne, hit just eight winners to 33 for Lucic-Baroni, and she won just 30 percent of her second-serve points. She was broken six times and lasted only 62 minutes against the 34-year-old.

Lucic-Baroni improves to 4-14 against Top 5 opponents and 1-2 vs. Radwanska. She snapped a seven-match losing streak at the Australian Open on Day 2, and reaches the third round at Melbourne for the first time. She moves on to face Maria Sakkari of Greece in the third round.

Sakkari defeated Alize Cornet, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to reach the third round at a major for the first time.
