On any surface, Alexander Zverev is a serious threat.

The second-seeded Zverev zapped 13 aces and permitted just four points on his first serve powering past lucky loser Julien Benneteau, 6-0, 6-4, into the ‘s-Hertogenbosh semifinals.

It is the fourth semifinal of the season for the 20-year-old German, who became the youngest man in a decade to win a Masters 1000 title when he toppled Novak Djokovic in the Rome final last month.

All four of the top seeds advanced to the semifinals today.

Continuing his quest for his fourth title of the season—on a third different surface following his hard-court championship in Montpellier and clay-court triumphs in Munich and Rome—Zverev will play 28th-ranked Gilles Muller in tomorrow’s semifinals.

The fourth-seeded Muller served 72 percent in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Briton Aljaz Bedene, which was his second win in as many meetings over the Budapest champion.

The 34-year-old Muller is playing for his third final of the season. Muller defeated Dan Evans to win Sydney in January and was runner-up to Pablo Carreno Busta in the Estoril final in April.

Towering Ivo Karlovic did not face a break point in a 6-4, 6-4, sweep of Russian qualifier Daniil Medvedev.

The third-seeded Karlovic leveled his 2017 record at 10-10 reaching his first semifinal of the season.

The 38-year-old Karlovic will play top-seeded compatriot Marin Cilic for a place in the final.

In the day's final quarterfinal, Cilic broke served three times in a 6-3, 7-5, conquest of 83rd-ranked Canadian qualifier Vasek Pospisil.
