Jelena Ostapenko became the first unseeded women’s singles champion since 1933 on Saturday in Paris. We celebrate the occasion with 20 Tweets from the final and its aftermath.

1. They were loving Ostapenko’s win in Nashville.

2. The newly minted champion celebrates with mom and coach.

3. The former coach of Simona Halep and the current coach of Johanna Konta sends his congrats.

4. The godmother of the WTA Tour, Billie Jean King, sends some love.

5. Ostapenko didn’t struggle with the heaviness of the moment, but she did struggle with the weight of Coupe Suzanne Lenglen.

6. Some people never stop talking about money.

7. But Ostapenko assures us that being the best in the world is more important than the prize money.

8. Just amazing that Ostapenko entered this event with an 0-3 career record in finals.

9. Even more incredible: Ostapenko is the first unseeded woman to win at Roland Garros in 84 years!

10. Having witnessed a few great Grand Slam final performances, Magnus Norman knows a thing or two about them.

11. Another crazy stat: Ostapenko is just the second woman in Open Era history to win a Slam final after dropping the first set. Halep was 47-5 when winning the first set at majors, btw.

12. Jeez. 299 winners in seven matches, and a 54-8 edge in the final.

13. The last player to win a maiden title at a major was Gustavo Kuerten at 1997 at Roland Garros. Strangely, he did it on the day that Ostapenko was born.

14. Rumor has it, she’s pretty good on grass as well.

15. Coach Anabel Medina has a lot to smile about as well.

16. A disappointed Simona Halep gives full props to Ostapenko and adds that she felt like a spectator on court at times.

17. Love to see the R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

18. Aussie Daria Gavrilova chimes in with big respect for Ostapenko’s performance.

19. Trophy time.

20. Two female coaches leading the way. A good sign…
