Novak Djokovic will make a homecoming return to tennis next week.

The world No. 2 will lead a Serbian squad that includes Viktor Troicki, Dusan Lajovic and Nenad Zimonjic when it hosts Spain in the April 7-9th Davis Cup quarterfinals at the Aleksandar Nikolic Arena in Belgrade.

Six-time Miami Open champion Djokovic, who withdrew from Miami to nurse an ailing elbow, will make his second straight Davis Cup appearance. Djokovic owns a 30-7 career Davis Cup singles record.

Djokovic and Troicki led Serbia to a 4-1 victory over visiting Russia in last month's opening round.

The reigning Roland Garros champion won’t be squaring off against nine-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal next week.

Nadal is skipping the Davis Cup quarterfinals.

In his absence, Spanish captain Conchita Martinez has assembled a team of Pablo Carreno Busta, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Marcel Granollers and reigning Roland Garros doubles champion Marc Lopez for the indoor hard-court tie.

The winner of the Serbia vs. Spain tie will take on either 2015 Davis Cup champion Great Britain or France in the Davis Cup semifinals set for September 15-17th.

World No. 1 Andy Murray, who may be sidelined until May with an elbow tear, will miss Great Britain's quarterfinal against host France on the red clay of Rouen.

Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund are the expected British singles starters while Jamie Murray and Dominic Inglot are scheduled to play doubles for captain Leon Smith's squad.

French captain Yannick Noah counters with a team of Lucas Pouille, Gilles Simon and reigning Wimbledon doubles champions Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who became a first-time father last week, will miss the tie.
