116 – This year's #RG17 will be the 116th edition of Roland Garros, and he 50th in the Open Era (began in 1891). This year marks the 84th time the event has been held at Roland Garros (first 1928).

10 – This year is the 10th year of equal prize money for men and women at Roland Garros. Rolalnd Garros was the third Grand Slam to go to equal prize money, with Wimbledon following suit that year.

10Rafael Nadal is bidding for his 10th Roland Garros title. No other man has managed more than seven titles at one major.

4x2Novak Djokovic is bidding to become the third player in ATP history to win all four Grand Slams twice at Roland Garros. The other two to have achieved the feat are Rod Laver and Roy Emerson.

1Andy Murray will finish Roland Garros ranked No.1 regardless of what happens in Paris over the fortnight.

1Angelique Kerber will retain the No.1 ranking after Paris unless either Karolina Pliskova or Simona Halep win the title without Kerber reaching the semis. Alternatively, Pliskova can become No.1 if she reaches the final and Kerber does not reach the round of 16.

8 – There are eight teenagers in the WTA draw. Amanda Anisimova is the youngest, at 15. Mary Joe Fernandez was the youngest to play a match at Roland Garros. She was 13 years, 280 days at Roland Garros in 1985. Steffi Graf was the youngest to win a match, was 13 years, 342 days in 1983.

233 – Novak Djokovic (229) will bid to pass Jimmy Connors (233) on the all-time Grand Slam win list. Would move him into second all-time, behind only Roger Federer (314).

49 – There are 49 men aged 30 or older in this year’s Roland Garros draw. The all-time record is 51, which was set last year in Paris.

61 – Feliciano Lopez has the ATP’s longest active consecutive Grand Slam played streak. He’ll play #61 in Roland Garros, and if he keeps it up he can tie Roger Federer’s 65 next year in Paris. Lopez will turn 36 in September.

6 – # of Roland Garros champions in the main draw. Novak Djokovic (2016), Rafael Nadal (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), Stan Wawrinka (2015), Francesca Schiavone (2010), Garbine Muguruza (2016), Svetlana Kuznetsova (2009).

4 – Number of times the WTA top seed has lost in the first round at a major in the Open Era. Angelique Kerber, who faces Ekaterina Makarova, could be the 5th. A top WTA seed has never lost in the first round at Roland Garros. The No.1 seed on the men’s side has lost just once since 1925 in Paris. That was Stefan Edberg, who fell in the first round at the French Open in 1990.

17Feliciano Lopez and Mikhail Youzhny will tie Roger Federer for second on the list for most Roland Garros appearances. Fabrice Santoro and Francois Jauffret lead that list with 20 appearances in Paris.

1983 – The last time a French man won a singles major, when Yannick Noah won Roland Garros. Mary Pierce (2000) is the last French woman to win Roland Garros, while Marion Bartoli’s Wimbledon title (2013) is the last singles title by a French woman.
