Coric won 3-4(3), 2-4, 4-2, 4-0, 4-2, which cleared the way for Daniil Medvedev to also reach the semifinals at Milan.

Coric will face top-seeded Andrey Rublev in the semifinals on Friday, while Medvedev will face Hyeon Chung of Korea.

Chung and Coric each finished round robin play undefeated in Milan.

Medvedev needed help from Coric on Thursday and things looked bleak at the start. Medvedev needed Coric to either win or at the very least take two sets from Khachanov.
