The second-seeded Vandeweghe dominated on serve dismissing Australian Ashleigh Barty, 6-3, 6-3, to power into her second final of the season at the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai.

Vandeweghe won 88 percent of her first-serve points, pumped five aces and did not face a break point in a 62-minute triumph.

The US Open semifinalist will play for her first title since the 2016 's-Hertogenbosch—and first career hard-court title—when she faces Julia Goerges in tomorrow’s final.

The seventh-seeded Goerges scored her eighth straight win defeating Anastasija Sevastova, 6-3, 6-3, in Saturday’s first semifinal.

Moscow champion Goerges did not face a break point beating the 15th-ranked Latvian for the fourth time in six meetings. Goerges advanced to her fifth final of the season and will play for her fourth career title tomorrow.

The 18th-ranked Goerges has split four career meetings with Vandeweghe, who has won both of their prior hard-court clashes.
