The 36-year-old raced past David Goffin, 6-1, 6-2 to reach the title match at the Swiss Indoors for the 13th time on Saturday, setting up a popcorn final with Juan Martin del Potro on Sunday.

Federer improves to 6-0 lifetime against Goffin and 48-4 on the season.

Federer was imperious from start to finish, dropping just two first-serve points and eight points on serve overall. He did not face a break point and cracked 20 winners against 11 unforced errors to go with four aces.

The seven-time Basel champion has now held in 37 of 38 service games at Basel this week.

Federer will bid for his 7th title of 2017 and he will also attempt to pass Ivan Lendl and move into second on the ATP’s all-time title list—he currently is tied with the Czech with 94 career titles.

To do it he’ll have to take down the red-hot Juan Martin del Potro, a player that has won eight matches in succession and one that also defeated Federer twice in the Basel final (2012, 2013).

Federer is on a nine-match winning streak, and owns a 17-6 lifetime edge over Del Potro.
