David Goffin surged past Richard Gasquet and leapfrogged Kevin Anderson in the Race to London standings on Friday in Tokay. The Belgian’s 7-5, 6-2 win in his first ever meeting with the Frenchman sets up a semifinal clash with Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.

Goffin was in trouble at the start but rallied to save three consecutive set points with Gasquet serving at 5-3 in the first set and proceeded to win 10 of the final 12 games.

Goffin’s win earns him 90 ranking points and catapults him past Kevin Anderson and just 15 points behind Sam Querrey for the eighth and final ATP World Tour Finals slot.

Goffin can move into eighth place with a win over Diego Schwartzman in the semifinals on Saturday in Tokyo.

Schwartzman reached his second semifinal of the season by defeating American Steve Johnson, 6-0, 7-5. Johnson rebounded nicely from a first-set shellacking but Schwartzman held his nerve and closed out the American to earn his 32nd win of the season.

Top-seeded Marin Cilic blasted past American Ryan Harrison, dropping just four points on serve to win 6-2, 6-0, and will face France’s Adrian Mannarino in the other semifinal.

Mannarino notched a 6-2, 6-4 win over hometown favorite Yuichi Sugita of Japan.
