The US Open celebrates its 50th anniversary next month with a record $53 million purse.
The USTA announced prize money for the 2018 US Open.

The men's and women's singles champions will each earn $3.8 million, which is $100,000 more than the champions' checks cashed by 2017 men's winner Rafael Nadal and women's champion Sloane Stephens.
Overall, the 2018 US Open will pay about $2.6 million more than the $50.4 million prize money total for the Flushing Meadows major last year.

The US Open is scheduled for August 27 through September 9th, with the US Open Qualifying tournament beginning on August 21st.
The USTA announced the Open will celebrate its history with special recognitions and celebrate the tournament’s great champions over the course of the entire event.
The tournament marks the debut of the new 14,000-seat Louis Armstrong Stadium, which features a retractable roof.
