Florida’s Coco Gauff became the youngest woman to win the junior title at Roland Garros in 25 years with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(1) victory over fellow American Caty McNally. Gauff, 14, is the fifth-youngest to win the Girls’ title in Roland Garros history.

"This run of success for American women, as evidenced by the incredible performances of Sloane, Madison, Coco and Caty at Roland Garros, has been years in the making, starting first and foremost with Serena and Venus Williams pulling thousands of girls into the game," said USTA Player Development General Manager Martin Blackman in a statement. "The combination of their influence and leadership, great private sector coaches in the U.S and a comprehensive system of support that was established by Jose Higueras, Ola Malmqvist, Kathy Rinaldi and our USTA National Coaches, has led us to this incredibly bright present and future."

McNally, 16, went on to capture the doubles title with Poland’s Iga Swiatek over Japan’s Yuko Saito and Naho Sato, 6-2, 7-5.

Chinese Tapei’s Tsen Chung-Tsin took the Boys title, defeating top-seeded Sebastian Baez of Argentina, 7-6(5), 6-2. Tseng bounced back from dropping the Boys final at Melbourne to Sebastian Korda by defeating the American in the semis before taking the title in 80 minutes on Saturday.

“I’m very happy, it’s very exciting because I’ve been preparing for moments like this for many years,” 16-year-old Tseng told rolandgarros.com. “It was always my dream to win here.”

Both Gauff and Tseng spend time training at Patrick Mouratoglou’s Academy in Nice, France.
