Riding a career-high rank of No. 21 into Moscow, Medvedev is elevating even higher in his hometown.

The second-seeded Medvedev hammered 15 aces and won 32 of 38 first-serve points bouncing lucky loser Ricardas Berankis, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4, to advance to his first Kremlin Cup semifinal.
It was Medvedev's 10th victory in his last 11 matches as he improved to 39-21 in 2018.
Fresh off his third title of the year in Tokyo, Medvedev will meet either third-seeded compatriot Karen Khachanov or Mirza Basic for a spot in Sunday's final.
Andreas Seppi continues to treat Moscow as a home court.
The 34-year-old Italian beat back fourth-seeded Filip Krajinovic, 6-4, 7-6 (2).
Seppi smacked seven aces and broke serve three times in a one hour, 53-minute triumph.
The 2012 tournament champion raised his Moscow record to 14-4.
Seppi surged into his third semifinal of the season where he will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino for a place in the final.
The veteran left-hander dispatched Belarusian qualifier Egor Gerasimov, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
The 30-year-old Frenchman is playing for his second final of the season. Mannarino fell in the Antalya final for the second straight year as he dropped to 0-5 in ATP finals.
