36 years, 349 days

Williams is the third-oldest women’s singles finalist in Open Era history, at 36 years and 349 days old, and she is now the oldest U.S. Open finalist in Open Era history. If Williams wins, she will break her own record for being the oldest women’s singles Grand Slam finalist in Open Era history, which she set in 2017 at the Australian Open. Williams is bidding to win a major title nearly 20 years after she captured her first at the Australian Open in 1999.

28

Williams will bid to become the fourth today.
