The victory will vault the 76th-ranked Anisimova to a career-high rank of No. 54.

"I had an unbelievable week here," Anisimova said afterward. "I mean second WTA final, it was an incredible experience and I love playing here in South America."

In a battle of two players playing for their maiden championships, Anisimova actually grew stronger as the match progressed. Changing direction, the teenager drove the ball down both lines with authority.

Contesting her second career final, Anisimova answered a one-set, 2-3 deficit by roaring through 10 of the final 12 games.

The final matched the resilience Anisimova showed all week.
