The two-time Olympic gold-medal champion will return to Belgium where he led Great Britain to its first Davis Cup championship in 79 years. In November, 2015, Murray defeated David Goffin, 6-3, 7-5, 6-3, sealing Great Britain's 3-1 victory over host Belgium to clinch Britain's Davis Cup championship in in Ghent.

"I remember the Davis Cup finals in Ghent against Belgium as if it were yesterday and particularly enjoyed the great atmosphere the Belgian public created," Murray said. "I am really looking forward to coming back to play Antwerp in October."

Belgian No. 1 David Goffin and Gael Monfils are also entered in the Antwerp draw.

Last week, Murray lost to Richard Gasquet in his comeback in Cincinnati that was his first singles match since undergoing hip resurfacing surgery following the Australian Open in January.

On Monday night, Tennys Sandgren stopped Murray 7-6(8), 7-5 in Winston-Salem.

"I think there was some good stuff in there," Murray told BBC Sport. "I think my ball striking was better than last week. I hit quite a few more winners, came to the net quite a lot. Obviously I didn't win but I do feel I was a bit more in control of what was happening out there.

"Physically I felt OK in the rallies, but I did notice in the second set that my first serve wasn't as good, and I think maybe my legs were a little bit heavy at the end there."
