Carreno Busta broke serve four times toppling the top-seeded Belgian, 6-3, 6-2, surging into the Moselle Open quarterfinals for the first time.

Weeks after Goffin beat Carreno Busta 7-6(5), 7-6(9), 7-5 in the Flushing Meadows third round, the 62nd-ranked Spaniard carved out revenge. Carreno Busta served 69 percent, won 11 of 16 second-serve points and faced just one break point in a one hour, 11-minute victory.

Carreno Busta broke at 15 for a 4-2 lead before closing out the opening set.

Playing precise counter strikes, Carreno Busta broke in the Cincinnati finalist's final two service games closing out the victory on a four-game run. It was Carreno Busta's second win in three meetings vs. Goffin.

The former world No. 10 has dropped just seven games in two tournament wins. Carreno Busta will face Aljaz Bedene for a semifinal spot.

Bedene beat seventh-seeded Frenchman Gilles Simon 7-6(9), 6-2. Bedene did not face a break point in a 91-minute triumph.
