Naomi Osaka is a megastar in Japan and all over the world and, it turns out, she’s mega-talented in more than one profession. The 22-year-old two-time major champion realized a life-long dream this week when she participated in ADEAM’s Fall 2020 Fashion Show in New York City.

The Naomi Osaka collection, which will be sold on the newly launched ADEAM e-commerce site, included five items which were co-designed by Naomi and Japanese designer Hanako Maeda, were also aided by the sketches of her sister Mari.

Five items, including a strapless gown in navy pinstripe fabric and a white-tank combo, were on display.

Here’s more from Vogue:

Osaka’s collection, co-designed with Maeda (and with some sketching help from her sister), blends “traditional and modern Japanese elements,” she said, with classic origami-like draping and more contemporary “kawaii”-style ruffles. “It’s both feminine and something that I would personally wear…I really felt like this represented me and my style both on and off the court,” she said.

“Used to sketch designs in the back of the car during long car rides to tennis tournaments with my big sis to pass the time,” Osaka posted on Instagram. “Pretty surreal to now say that a collection I drew with my sister walked in New York fashion week...thank you everyone.”
