Naomi Osaka has been forced to withdraw from Roland Garros due to the hamstring injury that plagued her throughout the US Open.

The reigning US Open champion took to social media to announce the news.

“Unfortunately I won’t be able to play the French Open this year,” she wrote on social media. “My hamstring is still sore so I won’t have enough time to prepare for the clay – these two tournaments came too close to each other for me this time.”

Osaka struggled with the injury throughout the US Open, and had her left leg wrapped for each of her seven matches after having to pull out of the Western and Southern Open final on the weekend before the US Open commenced.

“Miss you guys, but you’ll see me sooner than later,” Osaka wrote.
