Ana Ivanovic powered past Caroline Wozniacki to win her fourth title this season at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

The stakes were high not just for both to win the title, but also to collect more points as each seeks qualification for the upcoming year-end championships in Singapore.

Though Wozniacki stayed close early on with Ivanovic in the opening set, the Serb used her big forehand to punch through for the lead. Soon, she closed out the set 6-2.

Wozniacki rallied by taking hold of a 4-1 lead in the second set. Ivanovic again with big shotmaking eventually got back on even terms and soon a tiebreak resulted. Ivanovic, with one final massive forehand, sealed the convincing 6-2, 7-6(2) victory.

Tokyo is now the fourth title this year and 15th overall for Ivanovic who is enjoying a career-best season.

"Caroline played a great match today," Ivanovic said to WTA.com. "It was a really good battle out there - there were some very tough moments, especially in the second set. But I just tried to take it one point at a time, and I'm really happy to make it through. It's just an amazing feeling to win this title."
