Andy Roddick's Long-time Agent Passes Away at 48

Andy Roddick’s long-time agent, 48-year-old Ken Meyerson, passed away Wednesday night at his home in Florida, according to a statement from his agency, Lagardere Unlimited.


Meyerson was also the agent for
Gael Monfils, Agnieszka and Urszula Radwanska, as well as Fernando Gonzalez and Justine Henin. Meyerson had been president of Lagardere’s tennis agency since 2009, according to the Associated Press.


"Ken was a very hard worker and was always determined to do his best, both for his clients and for the company," Arnaud Lagardere, Lagardere Unlimited chairman, said in the statement. "His clients were his extended family and there was nothing he wouldn't, or couldn't, accomplish on their behalf. Ken is, and will remain, an inspiration to all of our agents."


On Thursday afternoon, Roddick tweeted "I love you and miss you. I will be forever grateful for your faith & loyalty, You will forever be my brother. As always 'thanks Meyerson.'"


Other players, such as Gonzalez,
Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic, Tamira Paszek and Mahesh Bhupathi gave their condolences as well.


“Andy, we are all feeling sorry for your loss. Ken has always been a true entertainer and respectful person. Stay strong,” Djokovic tweeted.


Meyerson is survived by his wife and two daughters, according to the AP.
