(July 11, 2010) Aravane Rezai blasted her way to the Bastad title.

Rezai defeated Argentina's Gisela Dulko for the first time, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, to win the  Swedish Open title in Bastad.

It was the second title of the year for the 21st-ranked Frenchwoman, who beat a trio of former World No. 1 players — Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic and Venus Williams — to win the Madrid title in May.

The fourth-seeded Dulko had won both of her prior meetings with Rezia (both in 2008), but Rezai rips flatter grounstrokes than the lithe Argentine and brought the heat when it mattered most today.

The 23-year-old Rezai broke in the fifth and ninth games to win the opening set.

On a warm day, Dulko began to grind out the points and break to open the second set. The 25-year-old Dulko broke three times to become the first woman to seize a set from Rezai this week.

Rezai regained command, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in thelted as Re final set. Dulko closed to 4-3, but double faulted to give Rezai a 5-3 lead.

Rezai closed when Dulko netted a slice backhand.
